Sotiris Christodoulou

Assistant Professor

Dr. Sotirios P. Christodoulou received his diploma degree from the Computer Engineering and Informatics Dept of the University of Patras, Greece, in 1994. He earned his Ph.D. on Web Engineering in 2004 from the Computer Engineering and Informatics Dept of University of Patras, Greece. He is currently Assistant Professor at Electrical and Computer Engineering Dept. in the University of Peloponnese, a member of Data and Media Lab (DML) and research fellow in the Computer Technology Institute and Press “Diophantus”. His recent research interests include web engineering, performance optimization of web applications, web code quality, hypermedia, Web 2.0 technologies, and the semantic web. His research publications include more than 40 international journals, book chapters, and international conferences, with over 340 non-self citations.

Since 1994 he has participated in more than 17 European and National R&D projects in the fields of web engineering, hypermedia applications modeling/management, 3D and cultural applications, etc. Most projects combined applied research emphasizing on applying cutting-edge technologies to real-world problems and Information Systems of large-scale organizations. Dr. Christodoulou is ACM and IEEE professional member, and he has participated in more than 20 committees of international journals and conferences.

Since 2004 he has taught numerous courses at the post-graduate and undergraduate level in 7 different universities, mostly in the area of programming languages, web engineering, software quality, and data management. He is currently teaching the courses of Object-Oriented Programming, Mobile App Development, Software Quality, Development of Web-based Systems at the undergraduate program as also as Cloud Computing Technologies and Digital Skills for STEM Sciences at the postgraduate program.
